Hey there,
Well i haven't written an entry for a few days or so. I have been busy checking out the facebook and imvu sites.
I love the facebook site. That is really fun and I have got a few friends on that now.
The IMVU is a little weird and a little scary. I am being a bit cautious on that one, I think there are a few deviots that use that site, but, it's kinda fun too. I don't think all the people that use it are after having a virtual fling, or affair so to speak. I have chatted with a few people that I have invited to chat. I have choses women who are about my age. I accidentally spoke to a young guy and he was quite rude to me. He said i was too old and then abandoned our conversation. How Rude!! Little upstart!!
Anyway, gotta go, Greg has some jobs for me to do,
See ya later,

Well, it is now the day after my long awaited show! And yes, all went well. I think for our first show we did exceptionally well. Me and Greg.
There were at least 100 people present, heaps of beautiful dancers, lots of students, and the setting was beautiful and the food delicious and so much of it too.
I am stoked.
A few little choreography errors here and there for me, and a few others too i am sure, but i don't think there were any major problems.
Poor Yen had to start half way through because the CD Player jumped the beginning of her track!! She did so well just picked it up from where the music came on. Well done to her for that. I felt so bad and so did Greg but it wasn't his fault.
Everyone looked great and all i could see were smiling faces. The highlight of my afternoon was watching the little ones dancing in the bread. They loved it and had such a great time. I am glad the mum's didn't whisk them away early. Thanks Yasmina Mum's.
Thanks to everyone who helped make the day special. Now to start thinking about the Adelaide show and of course - next years events.
Haha
Bye for now!

Hey there,
I am so so so excited about my Belly Dance Show that is coming up very very soon.
Having to really push people to confirm their bookings and part with their money. I don't think people realise that i have to let the people at the venue know how many are coming well before the event. Not to mention paying them!
Anyway, planning is coming along. Hope i can organise everything. Need helpers but people don't seem to be very forthcoming in that department either.
At least i have finally got my students enthused and they are starting to realise the importance of rehearsals. The attendance at the last rehearsal was fantastic. (That was the 2nd rehearsal). Only had one student turn up for the first one. Michelle of course my star student. Hehe.
Anyway, I will keep plugging on with the preperations, not to mention, practising for Hanan's show and my performances with the Jewels!! Busy times, but better to be busy that bored, that is for sure.
Bye for now.

Performed a Solo at Pt. Elliot last night. (Saturday)
OMG had a ball. The crowd were fantastic. The theme of the night was 'Indian Night' and the room was decorated beautifully. (Very Eastern). Some of the guests (of which there was about 30) were dressed up in Indian costume and the atmosphere in the room was really fantastic. The subdued lighting was great too. The only set back for me was the floor. Very uneven brick pavers! and not a huge space to dance in either. Though I did manage to perform veil and cane so it just goes to show, it can be done.
Nonetheless, it was a great experience for me. In fact for many reasons, a bit of a milestone for me too. I had my gorgeous husband and his good friend Steve and his parter and their gorgeous little baby there too, which made me feel really confident.
I had some priceless feedback from a few people, and for that I am totally grateful. You have no idea how much that feedback boosted my self esteem and confidence. Thank You, even though you will never know that I am writing this to you.
I am finally really beginning to enjoy performing and starting to really understand what it is to actually perform and not just get up in front of people and do a dance! Thanx Hanan, not only for teaching me how to dance, but, for showing me how to perform and giving me such insight to the Middle Eastern Culture. I am finally catching on Habibi. I am finally hearing the music.
So, to summarize, I had a great night and I am still buzzing from the experience this morning. Even though I am exhausted after spending the whole of Saturday teaching, rehearsing and performing!
Bye for now.

Last night the Jewels of Isis (Jan,Sandra and Kate) performed at a fundraiser in Victor Harbor. The Girls Night in for Breast Cancer.
We had a blast.
Apart from our music being a little quieter than we would have liked, we went off! We did very well. I made a couple of little errors in Kiss Kiss (our second number for the night) and Sandra made a couple of little mistakes too apparently, (So she says) I didn't really notice, but all in all we were pretty tight!
Practice makes perfect seems to be a true comment. We aren't perfect but we are definately streamlining our performance and each time we get a little smoother.
The crowd were great, and very receptive. Smiling faces all around and at the end of our performance quite a few of the ladies joined up for a dance to the Arabic Version of Voules Vous.
Great Night. I am sure they raised a considerable amount of money for the cause too.
WELL DONE LYN and family and friends for all your hard work organising it!!!
Well done for everyone that supported Lyn and came along and had some fun.

Calorie King. What a fantastic website!
I have been a member and have been using the CK website now for over a year. If you want help and support in losing or maintaining your weight - this is the place to go. It is the baby of Alan Boreshek, (everyone must know who he is). He is the man who brings out an updated version every year of his little book 'The Calorie and Fat Counter'. You can buy them in newsagents everywhere and he has been around for years and years. I think i bought my first book in the 1980's after my son was born. And so probably since the 70's.
Anyway, the website is fantastic. There is a Desktop Program and a Palm OS Program that you can purchase online and they link up to the website. Basically they are tools for tracking your daily food consumption and energy expenditure. He also has a little notebook that you can buy from the newsagencies, if you like to do it the old fashioned way (hand written). With the electronic versions you can post your entries onto the website for all to see if you wish. A great way to keep you accountable but for me I only do it when i am being really really good!!!!!!
The website has lots of tools and resources and the BEST thing is the forums. Heaps of people use it from all over Australia and I think there is an English or American one too. (Not sure). You make friends with others and help each other. One of the best things is if you want to purchase something or try something, you put out a posting on the forum and just wait for the feedback. I did this before I purchased my Desktop Progam, My Palm OS, my Polar Heart Rate Monitor, and my Treadmill and my MP3 Player. Not to mention many foods and naturopathic supplements etc. etc. etc.
There is always someone who has tried or bought what you are questioning that can give you feed back. I LOVE IT TO BITS.
From there I have found another great website called Couch to 25k. This is a website that details a running program designed to get you from being a Couch Potato to running for about 30 mins at a time in approx 10 weeks. It is linked to another website called Cool Running (for runners), and another website by a guy called Robert Ullrey from USA. It is really interesting. I am in Week 3 now! You download podcasts onto your mp3 player or ipod and use them with the program. They are put together by this guy called Robert Ullrey and they are really really great. Get ya movin' that's for sure.
Check em out! They are great!

I hope all goes well, I believe it will as we know the choreos quite well and are really looking forward to giving our time and energy for this wonderful cause. Well done Lyn for organising it too.
Will report on how things went.
Also have another gig on Saturday night. This one is a Solo. I don't enjoy Solo's as much but hopefully, Michelle will come with me and keep me company. It can be quite daunting arriving and performing and then leaving again all alone. Scary! Hehe.
Will be fine and a little richer after that one too. Haha.

Hey there,
I had a really lovely week end with my daughter Chels. We spend the whole week end together.
Saturday she came to dance classes with me, in the morning and then we went into Victor and had lunch at Cafe Bavarian, which was very very yummy.
After that, shopping for some new clothes. I ended up getting 2 prs of new jeans, 3 singlets and putting a groovy billabong zip up jacket on lay by. Chelsea bought a lovely little summer dress for herself and some new undies. I bought her a couple of singlets too. The dress looks lovely on her too. Beautiful girl that she is.
Saturday night Greg, Chelsea and I went out for tea at the local hotel, and then we were really really bad role models, and showed Chelsea how to play the pokies. That was really naughtly as we hardly ever play them at all. Anyway, between the three of us we came out ahead and seeing as one of our customers payed for our dinner, it was a very nice and very cheap evening out for us. We went home and watched 'The Island' on TV and relaxed for the rest of the night.
Sunday, Chels and Greg went and had breakky and coffee at the local Aquacaf while i slogged it out on my treaddy, then Chels and I headed off to Adelaide to see the SA Children's Ballet Company perform Aladdin at the Adelaide Uni. It was fantastic, really really great and then believe it or not, we won one of the raffles. A basket of goodies. HeHe
Bye the time i got home Sun eve it was gettting a little late, but Greg and I headed off the Woolies and did our weekl shopping as usual. Got home, had tea and sloped out in front of tele again. Good movie, Hitch!!

Feeling a lot better today. Saturday. My daughter is staying for the week end and i miss her so much lately, so it is lovely to have her home for a couple of nights. She is such a good friend as well as a great daughter and we enjoy hanging out together.
Yesterday was good too. (Friday) I really enjoyed my private lesson with my teacher (H.A.) and the class afterwards too. Such fun and i felt very confident in my dancing for a change. I think all the practise on Sunday helped my confidence a lot.
Anyway, still weary, but it's Saturday night and i am just gonna put my feet up tonight and RELAX with my hubby and little girl!!!
Tomorrow might go and see Aladdin by the SA Children's Ballet Company in town and the Adelaide Uni??
Bliss!!
